"The world of work is changing": Tim Roache appears before MPs in Parliament

MPs in Parliament have been looking into the future world of work and how to secure employment rights that are fit for the 21st century. Watch our General Secretary Tim Roache appear before the Future World of Work Committee to give evidence on how the world of work is changing across Britain.

On 28th March GMB General Secretary Tim Roache appeared before MPs on the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee (BEIS) on the Future World of Work to give evidence on how the world of work is changing.

Tim highlighted how the casualisation of jobs is increasingly becoming the norm for workers in 21st century Britain, with insecure contracts and low pay stopping people from being able to make ends meet. Whether it's agency work, zero-hours contracts or the 'gig economy' the situation is always the same - flexibility for the employer and insecurity for the employee.

GMB wants to make sure the voice of working people are heard loud and clear in politics. If you haven't already done so, please take just a few minutes to share your experiences of work in modern Britain. Click the link below to complete our Future World of Work survey.
